The daily number of transactions on the Base network has reached a record 8.8 million. The volume of transactions in competing second-tier networks also showed growth: 2.5 million and 900,000 transfers were recorded in Arbitrum and Optimism, respectively.
The total blocked value (TVL) of the Base has increased to $3.6 billion. The net inflow of funds exceeded $227 million in the last seven days. For comparison, the Solana blockchain received only $71 million over the same period. Experts attribute the surge in activity to the interest in AI agent protocols, in particular, the Virtuals Protocol.
