Many friends will disagree with me here but I think the analyses or memes that imply: 1. Trump is Russia double agent 2. Trump is paid by Russia 3. Trump is blackmailed by Russia are not only wrong and implausible (ok 3rd one may be a little plausible but unlikely), they are also desperate. These narratives have been pushed to public since 2016 by neolib think tanks with zero proof or even logic. Main reason is to shift the blame of horrible Dem strategies towards a nefarious foreign force, as if US isn't capable of electing a self-absorbed, far right, genocidal man unless manipulated or interfered. This doesn't mean foreign powers don't wish or even succeed influencing Trump, but they're on the same playing field (except Israel ofc but that's a American colony so it doesn't apply).

I think it resonates with people because so many of the Trump EOs seem not to make sense otherwise, and/or will directly hurt his base.... and so they seem to only exist for the destruction of the US. Things that don't even cost money, like preventing communication between health agencies as viruses increase... but personally I think Trump doesn't care and the Heritage Foundation wants to cause pain so people are open to their solutions.

It's the chaos model. He knows his base expects a big overhaul and while some of his actions benefit them, he and his people simply miscalculate the reaction they'd got on other actions. Bare in mind that many people in his admin aren't qualified (this is not discounting that many others are intelligent but simply self-serving people).
