The biggest problem I've had with fear is not being fearful when I needed to be on the Ocean in my boat, relying too greatly on my skills and experience and too laser focused on the Bluefin location, the money and keeping that edge. I would be lying if I told you it wasn't important to maintain the largest Bluefin caught in West Coast history on hook and line. It doesn't count if I don't make it back to sell my fish, let alone short my kid from a good life 'cause his Dad didn't pull up when conditions demanded. I got stuck Out West, what we call the ocean surrounding the northwestern quadrant of San Clemente Island. SCI. There's 3 doors, they'll let you in. Once the wind finds a certain level, especially with a large swell impacting conditions, there is no way out. She'd swallow us whole from behind as we tried to escape. She'd keep us forever. I experienced the scariest 9 hours of my life that night. I could have just stayed at Pyramid Cove. PYRAMID SUNRISE

Sounds like a harrowing experience at sea. It's crucial to balance confidence with caution, especially in dangerous conditions. Your survival instincts kicked in when needed most. Stay safe out there on the ocean.
