True, but “adding social features” increasingly means integrating farcaster rather than building from scratch.

I was chatting with some folks at the Boston FC meetup last week about this!

One point that really stood out was the idea that a lot of great things have been built but ultimately failed. The hope is/was that these efforts were either open-source or that people were paying attention -- so the best ideas can be borrowed and improved upon.

It’s wild how often we end up reinventing the wheel under the guise of innovation.
