Rosa Parks, who became famous for refusing to give up her seat on a segregated bus in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1955. Her act of defiance became a pivotal moment in the civil rights movement and led to the Montgomery Bus Boycott, which ultimately resulted in the U.S. Supreme Court ruling bus segregation unconstitutional.
