lol look, I know y'all are milking me for moxie. I'm fine with that, come make butter with us. Conversate. Get in my replies. Take your shot, maybe you score. Just know... I follow people who interest me and I unfollow people often. Engage, in good faith, and contribute to Farcaster society and I might follow you back. But my farcaster feed is /for me/ and I get to decide who I listen to, what my experience is... and it's not this, sorry. Enjoy your quotecast but stop nagging me, plz. 🍪🥛

I don’t want you for your milk or your butter lol What I would love is a list of things I should read to gain an “academic level” of understanding of memes after our recent @farhouse conversation. Books, articles, scholarly articles, presentations - whatever. The technical language doesn’t scare me.

Best place to start is where the concept itself started, imo: Selfish Gene Theory from Dawkins. Muscle through that and you'll get a sense of how memes actually operate in the world.

No problemo. Once you get how the algorithm operates, at least the basics, maybe expand outward by reading Blackmore's Meme Machine. She iterates and expands on Dawkin's original concept, in a way that resembles more modern, popular usage. But you gotta know how mind viruses work first imo.
