I cannot recommend highly enough BBC's Podcast, "The Rest is History". Having neglected history at school I'm rediscovering it now to find it fascinating and explains so much that is happening around us today. Great idea to introduce a friend to bees. Have you considered using a handful of grass for brushing? Disposable and less risk of transferring disease between colonies.

To pivot or not to pivot? Redefining your startup's strategy and pivoting is often worn as a founder's badge of honour. A rite of passage to true founder-hood. But is shifting the focus of your entire company inefficient, or even reckless? Businesses with an established revenue stream must keep introducing new revenue opportunities and attract new customers. Loyalty does not exist. This is not a pivot. Smaller businesses that have established PMF need a multi-year product roadmap. This must be diligently and robustly validated with their customers. Do not ignore what your customers want. This is not a pivot. Startups that are yet to reach MVP must combine attracting new customers with having a validated multi-year roadmap. Be reactive and be flexible. This is not a pivot. Startups that have launched and are struggling to gain PMF despite heavy marketing efforts are failing. They will eventually become a zombie company. Now is the time to pivot. Hard.

I never liked the appropriation of the word 'wallet' for crypto. Trying to explain to normies that their crypto is not actually _in_ their crypto wallet blows their minds. And it's all a struggle from there.

Bought a new knife today. Check out the difference in quality. Left has lasted ok. Right has thicker metal in the handle plus a wide casting at the end of the handle. Guess I know which will last a lifetime.

A new year and thinking about what I should change compared to 2024 (my 3rd year of beekeeping). I'll be treating for varroa using vapour this later this month rather than strips, so that's new. And no. 1 objective is not to lose bees to a swarm. Also considering doing the Basic course this year. You?
