If you want people to join your network, you should give them a lot of ways to potentially join  

Farcaster currently only has one way to join: Warpcast via mobile 

- Can't join via desktop 
- Can't join via another app without a Warpcast mobile workaround

It's an open social graph but you can only join one way

Ok I didn’t realize that but doesn’t that result in a pretty fractured experience for the user? 

90%+ of the people on Farcaster have a Warpcast account so shouldn’t anyone get one by default if they join the network? At least until there’s sufficient scale for more clients

wdym by the second part? i believe that is not true, e.g. you can create supercast account without a warpcast account

To your point nomads.com from Peter Levels gives many options to sign up and it's one of the nicest independent auth solution I've had a pleasure to use in recent years. For example, if you're on their Telegram group, you will be able to sign up with Telegram automatically.

Do you know if there's a master account?  Does it require you to give an email in the sign up flow?

why cant u join fc using another client or crossposting platforms?

I could be wrong of course, but why do you think you can't do it via desktop, if I'm sitting here right now writing a cast to you from the desktop version or what do you mean?

You can't create a brand new account from desktop.  You gotta create an account on mobile.

they’ll send a link to your mail as a 2FA authentication thingy

Open but limited defeats the whole purpose.
