If you had to create another Farcaster client that couldn’t have the form factor of an existing social media app (twitter,tiktok,IG, etc),

What would it look like?

Something that leverages the social graph in a new form favor.  No wrong answers :)

seems like cheaper (or even free) signups are coming soon

hopefully that'll unlock more growth and client experimentation

I think they'll never be truly "free" but I do think they'll get creative with subsidies to make them free under specific conditions 

Agree that every day that they don't solve this problem, hurts their chances to scale

Nah cheaper is coming, Dan said free “won’t work”. 

This will be the hill they die on I promise you it will never scale if you make new signups pay even 1 penny. 

This is so obvious to anyone who has ever done SaaS. Social maybe adds some delusion to potential, but it’s no different. 

Eventually they will realize this and subsidize the signup cost and wrap into CAC. But I bet it takes way longer than it should.
