op-node already exists under github.com/a16z/magi, and yes we'd like an entire rust op stack eventually

are there plans to rewrite parts of optimism in rust like op-node and op-batcher similar to op-reth?

Not really, they're quite different - Anvil has a ton of debug utils, and is in memory vs on db for example whereas reth doesn't have forking. would like to keep separation, one is a devtool other is a prod node

Will reth replace anvil in future? Is the only difference that anvil can do mainnet fork while reth does full sync?
