Someone tried this a few years ago and it failed, I don’t know why. It could just be bad timing, it was a crazy bull and nothing was shutting down. Maybe now it would work. Hell I would have loved that service this year!

Had this problem myself with an old CA LLC that I left around for $800 / yr because shutting it down was too much of a hassle. My understanding is that the same formation companies like Incfile and Legalzoom have tools for LLCs, but you may need human in the loop for corps.
