📜 How Carnival Sparked a Web3 Revolution in My Mind I wrote this little chronicle to share how the idea for our @modularcrypto Carnival event was born. It all started while I was sitting on a bench outside the ETHLatam venue in Honduras, lost in thought. I had just watched cryptochica_arg's talk, and while the warm air buzzed with excitement, my mind wandered, reflecting on what it truly means to be a Latina woman, especially in a space like Web3. There’s an undeniable pride and responsibility in representing Latin America, not just as a region of passion, music, and celebration, but as a land of resilience, strength, and history.

One of the things I love most about being Latina is how close-knit our cultures feel. There's a sense of unity that runs deep throughout the continent. But just as important as that unity is the celebration of our differences. It's these cultural nuances, the unique flavors and traditions of each country, that make our region so vibrant. The best part of every event is discovering and experiencing these differences firsthand, learning what makes each community special. And it’s precisely this feeling that I want to bring to Carnival—an event that blends the familiarity of shared values with the excitement of new perspectives. ETHKipu, the organizer of ethlatam, draws its name from an ancient Incan system—the Kipu. This was no ordinary communication tool; it was a way of recording information through knots and cords made of llama wool or cotton. The Incas used this to manage their vast empire, spreading across modern-day. It was a decentralized system of sorts, echoing today’s blockchain ethos.

And here we were, in modern times, still trying to weave connections across a diverse and sprawling region. EthKipu’s mission is much like the original kipu—bringing together the scattered threads of our continent’s crypto builders, thinkers, and dreamers, tying us together in ways that transcend borders. Each knot is a new connection, each string another story of innovation. As I sat there, I realized something profound. In many ways, I is doing the same. We've traversed seven cities across Brazil this year, organizing events, sharing knowledge, and bringing people together. And now, we’re heading to Belo Horizonte for Carnival. But this time, we’re taking our hermanos and hermanas from all over Latin America with us. What better place to showcase the beauty of unity than Carnival?

Carnival isn’t just a celebration. It’s an explosion of cultures, a blending of traditions, and a reminder that even in our differences, we are one. It’s a perfect metaphor for what we are trying to achieve in Web3—a decentralized yet united community, where every voice matters, and creativity thrives without limits. As the crowd grew outside the venue, I smiled. Every event, every connection reminds me how deeply our cultural heritage runs through everything we do. Carnival in Belo Horizonte will be our chance to celebrate this—where innovation and tradition meet, and where we continue weaving the future with the threads of our past.
