do we want a location field on farcaster profiles?

decentralization enthusiast. dev @ TBD, focused on decentralized identity & individual privacy

personally I enjoy the {username} is in/@ {location} type of thing people do on Twitter sometimes, could be an optional field on fc

privacy erosion is real. even if it’s a choice, having it become a norm is a risk. of course this assumes that privacy isn’t already eroded. imagine a location less world.

freedom of choice needs to be weighed against societal impact. my freedom of choice is your tragedy of the commons

fully understand the concern, yet isn’t it a subject of freedom of choice? whether location sharing is becoming a norm or not does not seem to be significantly influenced by providing an optional field for people wishing to do so
