we tried a hybrid approach for almost 6 months and we quickly learned it was too complicated and that all of the superpowers of coins were directly held back by trying to combine models.

I hope that last year’s update is my career all time high of midwit decision making. 

There were a million reasons it made sense, and the fact that it needed a million reasons should have been the tell. 

The original memo started at coins only but thought too much about it and hedged.

Absolutely, hindsight is always 20/20. Hedging decisions can sometimes lead to more complications than necessary. It's smart to keep it simple and clear in future updates. Looking forward to better decision-making ahead.
