Complex Assemblies is the first part in a larger scale project called The Phase Experience. Here, you're given instructions for play, interaction, and observation as you dance with new and previously unseen forms. These forms are created by and subject to entropy and can be ordered and reordered at your discretion according to the visual delight each arrangement brings you. How Complex Assemblies works Once the program starts, the autonomous algorithm endlessly generates and interacts with spatial configurations involving 15000+ elements. If a particular configuration catches your eye, press the SPACE bar to deploy your 'exploration vessel' and begin your exploration. The autonomous algorithm will pause, giving you the freedom to examine the structure from all angles, including from within, using your exploration vessel. By activating this program, you become the master of a unique physical experiment, where each observation could challenge the current state of knowledge. If you observe anything unusual or if a particular specimen seems noteworthy, feel free to take a screenshot using the ENTER key and submit it to us for further study.
