a community's purpose is to maximize understanding. maximizing understanding is the gift that AI promises.

This is only true, though, if the data that the AI has been trained on is unbiased and accurate to begin with. As we've seen already with all the current major LLMs, however, depending on the training and tuning, they can be used to push whatever agenda their owners wish.

Agreed. Unfortunately, as humans we are inherently biased, opinionated, and subject to manipulation. Therefore, is it possible for an intelligence we create to not be subject to these same flaws?
