the name “ruth’s chris” pisses me off an insane amount

I’ve been thinking of this for decades. 

Like, is it an adjective like Great? But Chris doesn’t mean anything?

The official explanation makes no sense to me either.

So the steak house is called that because Ruth took over "Chris Steak House" under the rule that she didn't change the name. 

When she had to move buildings, she changed it to "Ruth's Chris Steak House" so she didn't break her promise.
