is "art" more valuable on the Ethereum L1 network vs a L2 like Base/Zora? and what about chains like Tezos? does it matter what chain you mint on? @jessepollak @vitalik.eth

I think it’s most valuable where there’s highest liquidity and market activity. I don’t have much exposure to tezos art collecting but anecdotally I know they have much less secondary activity due to much much higher royalty rates. Which seems to align more with proper collectors than speculative degens.

I don’t mean proper/serious collectors like your typical Sotheby’s goer but more so general art enthusiasts such as fellow artists and folks just looking to score nice art at inexpensive rates. The high royalties are pro-artist and anti-degen, which is great for that type of art appreciating crowd.

I've been tezos-curious since discovering it two years ago. I transferred about $50 USD to start collecting but ultimately forgot about it. My main reservations are: - no smart contract / onchain art yet(?) - I can collect on ETH L1/L2 with less risk by being able to sell off assets for tax losses (via harvest.art)
