Following the rabbit hole: data comes from "dare", which means "to give" as in "something given as true". To adopt a pluralized form of data, you could imagine information as an uncountable blob, but when someone grabs a drop of it and gives it to you, it becomes countable data πŸ˜‚

Thanks a lot for sharing this article, I love deep dives on a very specific topic :) It never occurred to me that considering data a synonym of information can be limiting in a mathematical context, I now understand why the plural is considered to be better for scientific publications.

+1. Most cholesterol is produced by the liver and not absorbed through diet. As for the minor part that comes from food, research shows that LDL cholesterol depends more on saturated and trans fat intake than on dietary cholesterol.
