I think what most Americans miss about current events is understanding that the world is going to go through as much change in the next 5 years as we saw during the previous 50, and the USA is woefully unprepared for what that future will end up like

I don't know if we are on the right path, but definitely not changing a thing about how we think about the world and our place in it is the wrong one
