Here’s how to break free of a negative critical mindset and maximize the opportunities life is presenting you 👇🏼

Problems you are able to identify in organizations, systems, institutions and even sometimes those of people are actually opportunities to use your skills to make a difference.

You will not and cannot tackle every problem. Instead, use the following steps to assess it and move it through your mental pipeline:

1. First, recognize that this problem is an opportunity presenting itself to you and take a moment to be grateful! You have something to contribute here, what a gift. 

2. Take an honest look at the problem and ask yourself if it’s something you believe is important and would truly want to help solve, or if it just captured your attention because it caused you a mild inconvenience.

3. If yes, FIRST ask yourself if you have the capacity to help right now. Don’t say yes to solving every issue, especially beware if you are solving a particular person’s problem. You may be looking for approval or another form of validation.

4. If YES, it’s important and you have bandwidth: find ways to get involved, brainstorm possible solutions, and dedicate mental or even physical resources to solve the problem. Often simply beginning to think about a problem in a positive light will open a door to solving it 🚪

5. If NO to either #2 or #3, release it for someone else to tackle. Perhaps it comes back around to you later, perhaps not. 

But whatever you do, do not keep dedicating your precious mental and emotional energy into analyzing and criticizing the same things over and over! ☠️

Criticizing the problems, even in your head or to those close to you, may begin as troubleshooting but eventually it turns into shunning this opportunity to grow, and it will drain you of your energy for other things in your life.
