This is what life is coming to in Córdoba. Over the last several years, I've watched things steadily decline here. The government continues to squander huge sums of money, yet public services are laughable. Just a small sign of this is in my local town. The road sweeper truck used to pass by twice a week, keeping the streets nice and clean. In the last eight months, it's made maybe 3 visists. The streets are dirty, and the lights are not turned on in some busy motorways. Valencians were left without help in the flood for days on end.

It is. It seems to be the common theme all over the West. Huge amounts of money spent and unaccounted for, the taxpayers always left in the mire.
