Been playing Everndale over the weekend. Not 100% sure how I feel about the game after 3 playthroughs. I think I like it. I'm not a fan of the seasons not been in sync, and it feels like I'm been screwed all the time by a magical card or mechanic.

I feel the complaint with the out-of-sync seasons! I like that the choice to move yourself into the next season creates tension but the 2 main problems for me are: 1. It is thematically broken, which makes the game feel a little broken. 2. It creates a problem at the end when some players are finished far ahead of others and I dislike when a game creates extensive idle time. It breaks the social element of the game because usually the finished players leave the table to do something else.

Yep I think you hit the nail on the head. This happened last night. Basically, the other two players had moved to the last season, and I was still behind. Tactically then i don't want to move to the next season until they have placed their peices as they will take all the best spots that I'm currently occupying, also I had still lots to do and they get board waiting. It dragged on and the game took about 2hours.
