This is a 900+ page tome called “information arts: intersections of art, science, and technology. Sounds great, right? But I have never read it. It covers each topic with a selection of artists, often quoted talking about their work. But the illustrations are few and of poor quality (see replies).

The section on Algorithmic Art might interest many, but the content is a bit thin. Like this bit about Verostko. Also mentioned: Ken Musgrave & John Maeda.

I think the strength of the book may be its breadth: Biology, Physics, Nanotechnology, Kinetics, Telecommunications and much more. As a shallow survey of many “intersections” it has its place as a reference up to 2002. I personally wouldn’t try reading it, tho.
