They are still working on improving video. There are only 20 employees at Bluesky and they were getting like a million new users a day or some crazy thing. They weren’t expecting that sudden increase in volume and I think it’s holding up pretty well. 

I remember Twitter didn’t do so well under similar circumstances when it started out. The “fail whale” was a daily occurrence, the CTO resigned, and some crack team came in and rewrote all the backend so they didn’t go out of business! (Moral of the story: never build anything serious on Ruby on Rails.)
