Celadon green dishes, whose pottery is thousands of years old, are famous for their beauty and high quality. The design of Korean pottery is considered simpler than that of China. Celadon artisans were fond of creating a contrast between the color used and the body of the pottery by glazing. These designs were created with a special "sang-gam" (sang-gam) technique, in which clay of a different color, celadon, was prepared and the colors were played with.
