Though I have been vibecoding for some time now there are still "I can't believe that just happened" moments. I saw Chatroulette 2 days after it started in 2009 and immediately hired two teams to build a clone - chucking $ at the problem. I was living in New York at the time and chatroulette was skyrocketing as a global phenomenon. We succeeded and embedded it in a social network called spinthecam. We caught the media wave because outlets love to mention other similar projects and our signups peaked at hundreds of thousands per day when spinthecam was mentioned on hit TV show Legit! But we suffered from the same issues as chatroulette - guys exposing themselves!!! and despite being in a social network we could not stop the rot. In the end, I shuttered the project because I could not monetise it.
