For the Proof of Ship contest, I chose one of the toughest yet most next-gen projects to build. My first project aims to develop an SDK that allows developers to integrate gasless transactions into their apps seamlessly.
As I started, I came across two key ERC standards: ERC-2771 and ERC-4337.
🔹 ERC-2771 (Meta Transactions) enables a mechanism where the signer and the gas payer can be different. While this seems promising, it has a major limitation—it only works with smart contracts specifically written for ERC-2771, making it less flexible.
🔹 ERC-4337, on the other hand, is far more versatile and dynamic. It powers smart contract wallets, which allow for programmable transactions, gas sponsorship, social recovery, batch transactions, and more. This makes it a strong contender for building a scalable and user-friendly gasless transaction solution.
