Nix is so good, now I use it also to package docker images. What's neat is that I make scratch images without giving up dynamic linking.

I added a guide showing how to use Apibara locally with devnet-rs. Once I find a katana docker image I'll update with that too https://www.apibara.com/docs/networks/starknet/devnet

This talk about building TigerBeetle was intriguing: - all ci scripts in the same language as the project (zig, rust, etc) - merge commits - cross compilation by default - github actions only to dispatch scripts - no semver until you have to https://twitter.com/TigerBeetleDB/status/1762105585514803523

If they add anything remotely close to telescope to zed I'll switch as soon as they have a linux version.

Learned Turbo Pascal in high school (~2005-2009) and IMHO one of the best low level languages. They had a dead easy graphic api so we would build simple physics simulations in the lab.

I started using a separate email for github because I don't like their notifications dashboard, now it's proving useful to fight spam

Between scroll and this GitHub needs to get their shit together to fight spam. Microsoft is a 3 trillion dollar company, they can afford to fix this.

Maybe Google cloud run? For that price you need to go server less which doesn't play great with python.

Yep, for everything I'll need to maintain for 6+ months I still use React, but smaller projects are great to experiment with Solid/Svelte etc.

I don't know, seems easy to take more than 12 steps per day for a week. I usually average over 100 myself
