Telegram CEO Pavel Durov announced on his TG channel that he has launched new features today while phasing out some outdated ones. PavelDurov stated that the "Nearby People" feature has been removed, and less than 0.1% of Telegram users use it, but there are issues with bots and scammers. Instead, a "Nearby Merchants" will be launched to showcase verified and legitimate merchants. These companies will be able to display product catalogs and seamlessly accept payments. In addition, uploading new media to Telegraph (our independent blog tool) is also prohibited, as the tool appears to have been abused by anonymous individuals. @ftiioma @496
