I had a very insightful discussions with 2 of the top Bitcoin L2 Builders (founder of Citrea and BOB)

Some key insights
 1. BTC bridging between L2s & L1 is the largest challenge that sets L2s apart form sidechains
2. BitVM is positioned to become the defacto way to implement trust-minimized bridging between L2s & L1

6. The next set of challenges for L2s are: security of the L2 (zk or otherwise), censorship resistance, and DA
7. For L2s to succeed,  native stablecoin support, dev tooling, and time-to-market are critical
8. The developer/community excitement for L2s is high but there are also shady projects out there.

3. BitVM-bridge are not likely be ready before 2025!
4. BitVM bridges have to figure out how much prover collateral is sufficient for safe operation
5. Other than BitVM, large dynamic threshold-signature bridging is the closest secure way for BTC bridging

BitVM has little to do with that. The L2 architecture can allow that by forcing transaction inclusion on the L1. Stacks for example force the first execution of any relevant L1 transactions but the enforcing happens on the L2 stack

Great thread @fouda been researching l2 , in attempt to develop an app with one most likely to succeed but not easy to figure out. But am hesitant until real trust baked in , Does BitVM allow you to exit on Layer 1 without needing to trust anyone ?
