🧢Coinbase-backed Base to improve decentralization with fault proofs Base will implement fault proofs on the mainnet twice as fast as Optimism, which took about six months to upgrade the system from testnet to mainnet. Base, an Ethereum layer-2 blockchain incubated by Coinbase, is set to become more decentralized with the introduction of a new fault-proof system. Base took to X on Oct. 23 to announce the upcoming mainnet launch of fault proofs, or mechanisms intended to verify the correctness of transactions, such as the validity of withdrawals. After years of "web3" development, I still can't get over how arbitrarily stupid RPC nodes limitations are. Take eth_getLogs: Alchemy offers 100k, QuickNode — 10k, but these numbers can be different depending on how many results will be returned. You either have to code against a single RPC provider (lock in) or run something like /ponder or graph (ops complexity++)
