launching a token should feel like the same "weight" as creating an X account, not like "launching an IPO" as more tokens launch and token launches become more streamlined / less red tape, this will be more and more the case

I think this is very close to @proxystudio.eth thesis with Clanker. Guessing there is probably a spectrum, especially with rev share tokens related to big protocol rev streams

big goal for us was to make token creation more of a social act, but also to provide solofounders and devs with a reliable alternative to self-fund their work some of the best launches we've seen have been people who started casually and then rose to the occasion offered by the market

how did you decide between people being able to launch infinite number of tokens vs a single token tied to an address? or was this not even a decision to be made since pump was the mental model

pump wasn't really the mental model because we've never wanted to optimize for # of launches, we make way more money from fewer launches that perform better in the market. pumps model optimizes for churn, but also gets wayyy more volume given Sol meme market maturity, so no one cares as much originally we were limiting launches to people with higher neynar scores, and limiting # of launches (1 per day), we since removed the neynar score because we wanted more newcomers to be able to create coins. we'll continue to experiment around this, we're going to launch a more curated deployment flow in the coming weeks, with emphasis on discovery pre-token creation. ultimately its all just a series of experiments, unlike most of our competitors - I do not believe that there is a "single" correct way to do this, just different trade offs
