Crypto is a natural home for people who are desperate for a better life, and unfortunately the desperate are the most vulnerable to greed and grifters. I don't see why this won't be a persistent theme in crypto indefinitely. However, that doesn't affect my optimism for crypto. We're giving the entire world financial freedom, and no system is perfect. I think this is analogous to how elderly people are more vulnerable to scams. It's a problem, but it's not exactly a bad thing that people are able to live long enough to grow elderly.

Do you think this gives some validity to the vertical scaling strategy of a chain like Solana? Perhaps Solana's end game can actually service all demand? The counterpoint to this is that demand is currently being bottlenecked by blob space.

Considering a significant amount of overall gas usage will be moving to blobs, and the speculation that there will be more migration to L2s when fees dramatically decline, I could definitely see a world where 4844 will significantly affect gas fees on mainnet. Probably still expensive by most measures though.
