I’m reading ‘Way of King’ by Brandon Sanderson. This way he has of introducing countless characters without developing them is so annoying. You get entire chapters of introspection for one development and then: poof, it’s not addressed and we go to the next useless protagonist. I don’t feel engaged by this.

I feel that. I listened to all of Stormlight on Audible, and I didn't start caring about the story or the characters until about halfway through The Way of Kings. Once you make it through the first half, though, you'll fly through the rest of the series. You have an internet stranger's word that it'll be worth it.
