The idea that I'm most obsessed with right now: ~ Headless Marketplaces ~ Brought on @jesse and @antonio to chat Frames, Farcaster, Headless Marketplaces, and so much more. This was a refreshing episode. No talk of prices, just a whole lot of optimism for the future. Now live on the Empire pod!

How does farcaster content moderation work? Does each client have to implement their own content moderation?

For US based crypto teams spending cycles figuring out token legalities, the farcaster model has to look really attractive right now. Find ways to encourage your early adopters to create memecoins/nfts and you can get all of the growth benefits of a token launch with none of the headaches.

yeah, governance tokens are largely just meme coins. The real advantage to the model playing out on farcaster is that the farcaster team did not need to launch a token themselves to achieve the same benefits that most projects are attempting to accomplish by launching a token.

The challenge farcaster now faces is how to convert this surge of attention into sustainable user growth, and soon it will be how to protect users from the malicious actors and crypto spam we see all over X.

Meme coins really are an incredible growth hack. Most projects put a lot of resources into launching governance tokens even when it doesn't really make sense. The primary purpose is typically to bootstrap growth. Farcaster is demonstrating that facilitating community coins can achieve the same goal.

It comes off as desperate and spammy. Kind of wish it wasn't that way though because they could be more useful.

I'm curious to those more familiar, how would you differentiate Farcaster from other decentralized social, such as Lens or Mastodon? I'm interested in both technical and cultural differences.
