Fun Fact: This clearly sounds like early 2000s as it should haha. Shadow the Hedgehog was intended to just be an exclusive character to Sonic Adventure 2, but got so popular that became a fan favorite. 

Also, this was the last sonic game to launch on SEGA Console (Dreamcast)

Fun Fact: F-Zero’s designer, Takaya Imamura, watched the 1989 Batman film when he was in the US and wanted to make a game with American-style comic book heroes, hence the influence of the comic book style art in the original F-Zero and X
