Sooooo I’ve a friend from Latam coming down mid October and is asking for recommendations

what are some interesting events ongoing? I think SFF is on

Neither fish nor biscuit. I organise Ethereum Singapore and help at clrfund.  I dont think I have to be who I am on Twitter here and I love it

Attractions: Haw Par Villa (if they are into more culturally esoteric things)

Foods: Might be nice to point them to dishes in Singapore that are similar to food in LATAM, e.g. tamales and dumplings (bazhang/zongzi); roti prata and wheat tortillas (if from Northern Mexico); curry puffs and empanadas; roasted chestnuts and chontaduros (if from Colombia); etc. 

Fruits: Since much of Central/South America cuts across the tropics, fruits are quite similar. But haven't seen durians, longans and lychees yet (but rambutans are common in southern Mexico).

Bars: Fura and Analogue Initiative (temporarily closing in mid-Nov 2024), with their emphasis on sustainability, are quite unique.
