When you read vs listen to a book, do you notice any specific differences in how you comprehend or absorb the material at hand?

I'm starting to learn about myself that I really need both. I'm reading Rick Rubin's book now after having listened to it and it feels like a completely different experience!

Agree, and because of the comprehension level, the pace, somehow also the interpretation that we make in our mind of a certain scene or character..I probably think that listening to a book is not the same as actually reading it. I'm not saying is less, just that it's fundamentally different.

The debate of our times... I do think it counts, but at least for me I know that my comprehension is not as strong when listening as it is when reading, and so I try to adjust for that. What do you think?
