I like it that way, everybody should listen to supporters and haters all the same

i use the block/mute buttons very liberally on other platforms when someone is:
- shilling
- spreading hate/bigotry
- redarded

social media without moderation is hell. imagine someone was spamming your inbox with CSAM and you couldn't do anything about it. it would not be a pleasant experience for normal users.

I agree with you about how annoying social media can get with no control, it should be up to the user to control what they see on their TL, otherwise they won’t use the app, but, if you block everyone that doesn’t agree with you, you are favouring a polarising environment by reinforcing your convictions…

By only listening to the people that agree with you. People always wants to be right, but what people don’t know is how often we are wrong, so I don’t block people, I want to hear them even if what they say is the opposite of what I think.

Yeah, for me, hating on people for what they are makes you scum, but everyone has the right to do so, so I won’t block or mute them for it, it’s helpful to asses the world you live in.

true, i actively try to avoid echo chambers but some things are absolutely non-negotiable.
