Most people don’t know, but my formal education is in Marketing and Advertising. I started working very young and was very driven in my corporate career, but life had other plans. I married an Australian, and we moved to the USA for his work, so I dropped my career and went to art school in NYC.

That period was filled with exhibitions. I had two solo shows in Hoboken, NJ, and a few group shows in Manhattan.

What is the most memorable memory you have of your art teachers at the Art Students League?

My teacher was very tough. Most students quit their classes in the first month, but I lasted over two years and even became his class monitor. He made me cry often. One day, I asked him why, and he said he had to toughen me up so I could handle the world out there. It was very hard, but he did prepare me. The art industry is cruel. You need thick skin to get through.

Maybe I won't survive like other students, I salute you for being strong and for your extraordinary results. 🫡
