This was the only hard thing to give up when I became vegetarian some 15- - 20 years ago. I used to have sushi 3x a week at least.

I had some very strict yoga teachers. They said some practices should only be done if you don't eat meat. I started researching and found a lot of information on the cruelty in the industry (my main reason) and the environmental problems, too.
When we were hunters and earned our meat, there was balance. The world today has no balance to sustain humans eating meat anymore.
I'm glad there are so many alternatives today for when I want "meat" - beyond and impossible burgers are amazing! They even bleed.
For sushi, I eat the vegetarian options... having shoyu and wasabi is enough.
My son never tried meat. Born and raised vegetarian.
I don't share any of this unless asked. So, there you go. 🫂
