The percentage of Ethereum (ETH) that has been staked has decreased to 27%. This is a return to levels seen in July 2024 and marks the first decline since the peak of 29% in late 2024. As of now, approximately 33.5 million ETH are staked on the Ethereum network, highlighting the substantial portion of the supply dedicated to network security. Although this represents a two-percentage-point drop from the peak staking levels, it is the first decrease since staking gained momentum in May 2023. In the meantime, liquid staking derivatives (LSDs) continue to be a vital component of the Ethereum staking ecosystem. Lido Finance remains the leading provider of liquid staking, accounting for approximately 69% of the market share. Binance's staked ETH follows closely behind, with a market share of around 15%, indicating a significant concentration among major players. What do you think, how might the prevalence of liquid staking protocols like Lido Finance affect the future of Ethereum's staking ecosystem?
