What happens with Ajax upon the arrival of Francesco Farioli, I want to describe with the vocabulary of Christian metaphysics starting with the letter "v"-incarnation, resurrection, ascension. Farioli did not just assemble, glue, or fix something. He changed almost nothing in the composition of the available players, and in a few months, turned the team of dust into a shining star-the worst result within the last 24 years with the largest budget in Ajax history. Ajax is shining-but not blindingly-clearly, like a full or almost full moon. The most impressive thing in the match against PSV is the reaction after the third goal. Ajax took it for granted. They took the whole game with authority, and only luck saved PSV from a knockout. In general, without even discounts for the Dutch championship-deadly dangerous PSV. NB. The table below, far right column shows the number of points per game for Ajax coaches who have spent more than 15 matches on the bench-all official matches are taken into account.

I remember teams, and there were quite a few of them, that won the championship and played defensively. But I don’t remember a single champion that played dominantly and attackingly, but went into defense when they took the lead. Arsenal has a tradition of this in big matches. Yesterday against Liverpool, they didn’t create anything while they were leading. They rolled back, wasted time. Although they could have stepped on their throats and mercilessly finished them off. But Arteta allowed Liverpool to get back into the game (Slot and Sobosali also tried), feel comfortable and fight back. In recent seasons, Arsenal missed the championship by 6 and 3 points – maybe those points symbolized a lack of rapacity and courage

Here is a new one from an interview with Oleksandr Zinchenko in The Guardian: Before the match we were staying in the hotel where we knew all the waiters. Then suddenly a new one appears (this is important for the plot). Mikel says, before going out to the stadium: "Guys, I want to wake you up. We need energy. I remember once in our training camp, a competition between staff and players, you just destroyed Nicolas Jover. Let's do the same today, but we will compete with football freestyle." Everybody's like: "What? Alex will tear him apart." Nico started doing the warm up with the ball and then started faking the injury. It was too evident, even strange. And then they call a new waiter to replace Nicolas. We didn't know he was a pro freestyler. He destroyed me with tricks, and everybody present was very surprised by such a denouement. In the end, everybody laughed-we went to the match in a great mood.

This is Sebastian Beccasese. He didn't become a footballer. In the early 90s, he was inspired by Marcelo Bielsa and wanted to become a coach. Today, he will meet his idol. Uruguay - Ecuador. At 2-30 am

The season is gaining momentum, but one big title has already been contested. Benfica will become the world champion in the game against Atlético during the 24/25 season. By last season, Atlético had generally ceased to astonish us with its chaotic play. Often conceding four goals in a match, it even suffered five from Real in the Super Cup. But chaos implies a certain amplitude of play, mutual sharpness. Here, there was no reciprocity whatsoever. One-sided castration of the most macho team on the planet. Zero shots on target. Less than 0.5 xG. I want to signal the performance of Fredrik Aursnes, who was outstanding in the role of "tuttocampista." His deep and conscious interpretation of three positions-foundational right eight, right winger, and ten-along with spontaneous successful appearances in two or three other positions-was remarkable. I think Simeone would have signed such a player right after the match if he could, and he will be able to.
