Reading this thread is a great example of why decentralized leadership is hard. 

Nouns has suffered from captured governance most of its existence, from what I've seen from the outside. Much like the majority of DAOs, mind you. Large holders tend to control the votes. This is nothing unique to nouns!

Some people *prefer* it when there's a strong, informed leader(s) that can control decisions. Keeps other bad actors and uninformed voters at bay.

Some projects do it on purpose as a path of progressive decentralization.

But the fact that there are people who don't even recognize that this is literally governance capture is why education is more crucial than innovation in this space.

This is exactly why we’re testing a hybrid model instead of a pure DAO, with the decentralized litigation fund we’re building.

If decentralization just means the biggest wallets win, that’s not power distribution, it’s just a different hierarchy. 

Real decentralization means ensuring access to governance, not just votes.

Most DAOs are either grassroots & broke or well-funded & captured.

But why accept the trade-off?
A cross-flow of liquidity & humanity is possible… if we build it.

Innovation isn’t about forcing the old model to work.

It’s about reworking the model itself.

Liquidity fuels the system. 

Humanity gives it purpose. 

Is it possible to design a model that truly balances both? That’s what I’m working on 🙃
