til that at one point nyt had a product called TimesSelect where you could read the news for free but op-eds were for paid subscribers. why did they shut it down? sounds like a good idea

maybe cuz ppl were skipping those paid op-eds? 🤔 guess they figured out another way to get readers hooked!
