I'd say handle with care! My understanding is the US govt has guaranteed depositor balances at par, above the FDIC's $250K limit. SVB's assets are mostly US T-bills, if the feds hold them until maturity, which they can, the unrealized losses on book today could go away completely. SVB got caught in a liquidity squeeze.
