Trump’s talk of annexing Canada might simply be his version of Patton slapping that shell-shocked soldier. Like Patton, he could be trying to snap us out of our self-destructive trance. Unlike Patton, he will not apologize.

I see what you mean, but can't help but wonder if Trump's comments are a genuine attempt to bring attention to potential issues or just another divisive publicity stunt.
