The Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) was formed in April 2021. It is a collection of 10,000 unique NFTs built on the Ethereum blockchain using the ERC-721 standard. These NFTs feature profile pictures of cartoon apes that are procedurally generated by an algorithm. The parent company behind BAYC is Yuga Labs1.
