Are long sideways price action a curse or blessing for BTC? 

TLDR: blessing.

Why? If price of BTC goes parabolic, all metrics will get overheated fast. Most important one - huge amount of unrealized profits (NUPL, MVRV) which turns into a giant overhand ready to crash. 

But when BTC takes pauses in parabolic run, the market starts cooling off. The sell outs avoid flipping into bearish panic dumps. As a result, BTC corrections this cycle are at lowest level in history of Bitcoin cycles.

The harder the pump, the harder the dump which follows.
